Jamie Azure is an enrolled member and chairman of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians (TMBCI). Chairman Azure attended the University of Minnesota and earned Bachelor's of Science Degrees in Business Management, Advertising and Promotion, and Political Science. He has served on the TMBCI Tribal Council since December 2016 and served as the TMBCI Chairman since January 2018. Chairman Azure was reelected with 69 percent of the vote and continues to strive for Native solidarity, economic development, and youth/elder advocacy. Jamie also serves on the UTTC Board of Directors.

Jamie is a recent graduate of the Native Nations Rebuilders, Cohort 9, and owns J. Azure Construction. As an entrepreneur, he is involved in the community through philanthropic efforts on behalf of his company. J. Azure Construction was one of the first companies to dedicate a percentage of profits to youth organizations. His involvement with the youth led him to becoming a leader in the community. Jamie resides in Belcourt, ND with his wife, Denise, and their two children.
